Dear Parents,

On behalf of the faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you to the start of the 2015-2016 school year. We are excited to have another rewarding year here at Ninety Six Elementary and are looking forward to providing a quality education for every student that crosses the threshold of our doorways. We consider it an honor and a privilege to serve you and your child, as well as this community.

We ask that you please read through this handbook and familiarize yourself with our school’s procedures, rules, and policies that will have an impact on your child’s success in our school. These guidelines apply to every student at our school and are designed to ensure a positive, safe, and nurturing learning environment for the students, staff and faculty. Reading and understanding the information in this handbook will answer many questions you may have during the school year.

We want to keep you informed as much as possible and we do this in many ways. You can learn more about your child’s progress through communicating with their teacher, reviewing your child’s work sent home, as well as monitoring their grades and attendance through the Parent Portal. Our school has also adopted a “Going Green” approach this year by eliminating the use of excessive paper. We will be using the following means to communicate pertinent information: Facebook, Twitter, and REMIND 101 (free App). Also, we encourage you to visit our schools’ website,, which contains teacher’s websites and other information about our school.

Parental involvement is a key factor in the success of your child’s education. Parents are encouraged to have a working relationship with their child’s teachers, staff and principal. Our faculty and staff are always available to assist you in any way possible to meet the educational needs of your child. There are several opportunities for you to help our school by volunteering throughout the year. Please contact our office if you would like to volunteer your time and/or services.

Again, I am excited about the new year that awaits us! I look forward to working with you and your child!
