Those who attended were able to compete individually in several different areas like technology, visual arts, performing arts, and public speaking. Congratulations to Tenley Wall for receiving a Golden Ticket invitation to perform at the opening ceremony at the National Convention, Max Manley who won 1st place in the Elementary Technology competition, and Josie Winburn who won third place in the Elementary Painting competition. Students also competed in two group events, Engineering and Living Literature.
Engineering participants had 45 minutes to assemble their structure with a working zip-line and three different levels. The Living Literature group had to design and assemble a set to represent a scene from a book. The scene could not exceed the 12' x 12' x 12' space. Participants also had to pose for a certain amount of time in the scene during the judging. They chose to do a scene from The Lion, the Witch, and The Wardrobe. All the students worked very hard preparing for this trip, and they all had a great time.
