My name is Fran Wood, and I am so excited to be teaching 3rd Grade at Ninety Six Elementary School.  I attended Ninety Six public schools from the time I began kindergarten until I walked across the stage to receive my high school diploma. I graduated from Lander University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Upon graduating, life led me on a different path for many years, but a life-changing experience made me realize that the teaching gene that has been passed through my family was undeniably in me. I come from a long line of teachers; my mother, father, two aunts, an uncle were all teachers.  My sister (apparently we look and sound alike) is also currently a teacher at Edgewood Middle School. I guess it was inevitable that I too would become a teacher! 

My son also attended Ninety Six schools all the way from kindergarten until he walked across the stage to receive his high school diploma.  He graduated from Ninety Six High School in May and will be attending Lander University in the fall. We spend much of our time on battlefields, as he enjoys participating in Civil and Revolutionary War reenactments. We have traveled as far as Gettysburg, PA! You may have even seen him if you have visited Star Fort during their reenactments or Candlelight Tour. 

This will be my first year teaching 3rd grade, but will be my fourth year at NSES. We have a wonderful school, full of wonderful staff and wonderful students! Your support is greatly appreciated and I look forward to working with you and your child this year. We are going to RADIATE EXCELLENCE and have a great year!
