Charlene Louden - Principal

Welcome to Ninety Six Elementary School where traditions and memories are made.  I am humbled by the opportunity to serve the students, families, and this community as the Principal of Ninety Six Elementary School.  I consider it a privilege to be a part of your child’s educational journey that leads our future “Wildcats” to become productive citizens in their respective communities for years to come.  As we like to say in this community - “Once a Wildcat - Always a Wildcat.”

In 2005, I was afforded the opportunity to work in this wonderful district that instilled in me the importance of a good education.  I began my career as a School Counselor at NSES.  In this role, I was School’s Testing Coordinator, Response to Intervention (RtI) Coordinator, and  Behavior Interventionist.  In 2008 I was selected as the Teacher of the Year and named Principal of Ninety Six Elementary School in 2014.

I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology with a Minor in Elementary Education from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC.  I earned two degrees from Clemson University - the first was a Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance Services and the second was Education Specialist Degree in Administration and Leadership.

Hello NSES Family!  As the Assistant Principal of NSES and NSPS, I love being part of the Ninety Six community and sharing in your child's learning experiences.  My husband, Jason, and I are both in education and love what we do!  He works at Ninety Six High and our three children attend Ninety Six Schools...go Wildcats!  Before coming to NSES, I taught 3rd and 4th grade for 11 years and served as a reading interventionist for 3 years at Woodruff Elementary.  After that, I worked at Edgewood Middle School for 3 years in a similar role.  In 2021, I became the Assistant Principal at NSES and NSPS.  It's a pleasure to work with such an amazing community of parents and educators to provide our students with the best education possible!
