Hey, I am Lydia Collins. I have been in the medical field for 12 years. I started my career as a certified nursing assistant in the emergency department. I stayed in the emergency department as a CNA for a little over seven years before I became a Registered Nurse. I have been a Registered Nurse for five years.  I started my RN career on a cardiac step down unit. I worked there for a little over a year and then left to follow my love for trauma. After leaving the cardiac unit, I went back to the emergency department. I worked full time in the emergency department until I started my journey here at NSES in 2022. Even though I work full time here at the school, I still work as needed in the emergency department.

I am currently certified in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support and in pediatric advanced life support. I have also completed the emergency nursing pediatric course. I am certified to instruct BLS, and we as a district have focused heavily on making sure that our district is adequately trained and prepared in case of an emergency.

This school year starts year number two as NSES school nurse. I enjoy the time I get to spend with the students and getting to know and care for each of them. Along with my title as school nurse, I also accepted the position of Lead Nurse for the Ninety Six School District. I look forward to working with the students and staff within the Ninety Six School District as well as with the community of Ninety Six. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.
